Our first campus and health center in Santa Cruz, California was opened in 1984, offering Traditional Chinese Medicine education and healthcare to the residents of this thriving, coastal town. In 2005, we opened a second campus in San Jose in the heart of Silicon Valley; in close proximity to important university medical programs and hospitals such as Stanford, Alta Bates, and Kaiser.
Each campus features classrooms with technology that supports digital education and an extensive library, instrumental to the academic, clinical and research needs of students, faculty and staff.
Our health centers treat over 180 patients a day, providing clinical education for our students, as well as exceptional public healthcare. With 38 treatment rooms, herbal pharmacies containing over 400 medicinal products and expert clinical instruction, our modern facilities are places of learning and community service.
Together, our campuses foster a rich environment for collaboration and community, supporting educational and social interactions among students, faculty, staff and visitors.
The Five Branches Santa Cruz campus is located in a beautiful setting, one block from the beach on the Monterey Bay, close to the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. Located along California’s scenic Central Coast, Santa Cruz is renowned for its beaches, redwood forests, and wide array of recreational activities. The downtown area has a myriad of shops to explore and some of the best bookstores in California. Year-round festivals along the famous Santa Cruz boardwalk add a plethora of activities to enjoy and remember. Home to both the University of California and Cabrillo College, Santa Cruz offers the diverse and progressive culture of a college town, blended with the ambiance of a small coastal California city.
San Jose is an exceptional environment for a variety of educational, cultural and professional pursuits. In the heart of Silicon Valley, our San Jose campus is part of a bustling commercial metropolis, and home to major players in the world of technology such as Google, EBay, Twitter and Facebook. Universities in the area are plentiful, with the most renowned, being Stanford. With San Francisco 20 miles north of campus and Santa Cruz 40 miles south, there is a surplus of shopping centers, coffee shops, restaurants, theatre, and music venues to enjoy in-between.
